Anniversary Giveaway Winners!

I’m overwhelmed by the awesome number of comments and support for my anniversary! I had a great time reading through all the comments. I was not surprised that wolves seemed to be the most popular, followed closely by big cats of every variety and bears. Lots of you like dragons, too.  My mind is spinning with all the possibilities!

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for making my two-year anniversary such a success.

Two Year Annivesary Giveaway!

I can’t believe that it’s been two years since I published my first book, A Curve of Claw, and took the plunge into self-publishing. I remember sitting across the table from my husband at a local restaurant and telling him that I thought I’d like to publish a book. My husband, who is no lover of fantasy anything, arched his brow and asked what the book would be about. “Werewolves,” I said, thinking about Jason and Cadence’s book, “falling in love and all that good stuff.” He snorted and said, “Well, have fun.” And I did!

From the first line of A Curve of Claw to my most recent release, A Promise on White Wings, I’ve written nineteen books spanning five series with over 900,000 words written! I’ve come a long way since I first published, and I wouldn’t be anywhere without my fans and the amazing friends I’ve made along the way. Without your support, I wouldn’t have kept writing and publishing, pushing myself to write better and faster, to dedicate myself to writing. So to you, my fans and my friends, I humbly say thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

**Some fun tidbits**

  • A Curve of Claw was published on November 12, 2011. My first fan email came on November 14, just two short days later!
  • I save every fan email and message, and have printed out many of them and keep them on my desk.
  • My eyes are hazel, but I always wished they were green (my favorite color), which is why Elizabeth and Cadence both have green eyes. Callie, though, has hazel eyes, and so does Bo.
  • I didn’t know that Allen, Kentucky was a real place until a fan told me. To this day, I don’t know where the name “Allen” came from in my mind, but the town itself is patterned after a small town in Northern Ohio.
  • I can play the piano and I love to sing. Music makes it’s way into a lot of my books because I love it so much. And although I don’t listen to music while I write, I do watch youtube videos and listen to the radio for inspiration.
  • I buy a Pandora charm every time I publish a book. For Logan’s book, I bought a fairy. For Every Dawn Forever, a heart. For Lachyln’s book, a peridot charm for the month’s birthstone. For Jes’ book, a book of fairy tales.
  • The hardest book to write: Callie’s. Ending the friendship between her and Cades was like a knife in my heart. Although it was organic to the storyline, it still made me sad.
  • The book I had the most fun writing: Michael’s. All his funny quips and one-liners really made it a funny book to write.
  • The book with the most research: The Tribe’s Bride. I learned more than I ever wanted to about living in the wild, from tanning animal hides to making salt.
  • Upcoming book I’m most excited about: Melody’s (Marking Melody, Ashland Pride #3). I finally explore why the female lions are the way they are and reconnect with some ghosts from the Pride’s past.

Because it’s my anniversary, I wanted to do something special on the blog, and what better way to say thank you, than to do a giveaway! Happy Halloween and News!

DSC00089 (1024x768)To all my friends and fans in the US, Happy Halloween!  Tonight, my neighborhood will be full of little kids (and some not so little kids) begging for treats in adorable costumes. Every year we put our big dog in a NY Giants jersey and take him along with us.  He loves to meet people, so it’s lots of fun for him to go around with us.  This pic is from last year when he was all tuckered out from being adored by the neighbors.

In anticipation of the holiday, I’ve been watching a lot of movies featuring monsters, vampires, and all sorts of creatures, including my favorite werewolves.  Just for fun, here are my top five werewolf movies.  This is just my opinion, and I’m sure there are plenty of other fab werewolf movies out there, but these are the ones that I watch when I want to immerse myself in werewolf films.  These are in no particular order, and I make no apologies for time-wasted if you actually watch these:

  1.  Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.  Lucian (Michael Sheen) as the originator of a race of werewolves that were bred by the vampires to be slaves and guards.  He’s a perfect, tortured hero.
  2. Silver Bullet:  This is the first werewolf movie I ever saw.  Campy, yes, but a classic in my mind.
  3. Cursed:  Christina Ricci and Jesse Eisenberg as siblings fighting the werewolf curse, and it co-stars the adorable Joshua Jackson.  I dig the pentagram mark on their palms as a precursor to the curse.
  4. Blood and Chocolate:  Human man, werewolf girl, plus the uber-sexy Olivier Martinez as the big bad alpha.  Um…I lost my train of thought when I saw pics of Olivier.  *fans self*.
  5. Red Riding Hood:  I like the old-world, fairy tale feel and the twists of the storyline.  Plus it doesn’t hurt that Shiloh Fernandez is a love interest.
Now…onto the news!
  • November is my two-year publishing anniversary.  It’s hard for me to believe that two years has passed by already, but I’m really thrilled with how far I’ve come.  In the next couple of weeks I’ll have a giveaway on the blog to celebrate the anniversary, so stay tuned for details!
  • New Series:  My new werewolf series will debut in December, hopefully early in the month.  I’ll be posting on the blog when I have a concrete publication date as well as pre-order info as it becomes available.  I’m really excited for this new series, and I’ll be doing a giveaway during the month, too.
  • Are you part of my Shifter Babes Street Team?  I just gave away several signed copies of The Wolf’s Mate Book One plus some of my fab swag.  Join up!  I’d love to have you!
  • Melody’s book (Ashland Pride #3) is in edits and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a January publication date!
That’s all the news from my end!  I wish you all a spooky, fun day and a treat-filled night!  XOXO, RE

A Promise on White Wings is Here!!!

I’m so happy to see the seventh Wiccan-Were-Bear book, A Promise on White Wings, live!  Falcon Prince Jes’ story may very well be one of my favorites.  I really enjoyed creating the world of the falcon shifters and getting to know the white lion shifters introduced in the sixth book.

Final A Promise on White Wings (small)A Promise on White Wings (Wiccan-Were-Bear #7)

Taken in by a bear den as a child, Danika doesn’t know what she is, only that she’s all alone in the world. A visit to a bear den in Northern Ohio brings her face to face with her future in the form of two males who are meant to be her mates. She discovers that she’s not only the destined mate of the falcon Prince Jesuit and the white lion Prince Chance, but also the answer to a prophecy about a white-winged woman. When a bear from her den makes a claim to her, her mates must fight for their right to her and to their future.

Warning: Be prepared for a bear with a bad attitude trying to claim Danika for his own, two princes willing to die for their mate, and the woman who brings them and their people together. Contains m/f/m interaction.

Wiccan-Were-Bear #7: Release Date and Details

In November, I will celebrate the two-year anniversary of the publication of my first book, A Curve of Claw.  Now, as I get ready to publish the seventh book in the series, I’m really amazed at how far I’ve come!  This book will be my nineteenth publication and bring me one book closer to finishing the series.  I will be sad to see the series come to an end, but also really glad to be able to continue to move on and focus on other things.  Jes’ book is one that I’ve been waiting for.  The dark-haired, bad-attitude falcon prince deserved to find happiness, and I’m glad that I was finally able to get his story finished.  Still to come in the series – Brone, Mishka, Adam, Tosh, a 2nd story for Daeton, and Elizabeth’s twin sons Teck & Shy.

This book, like all the other WWB books, will be 99 cents.

The official publication date is Friday, October 11.  It is available for PRE-SALE on Kobo and B&N ONLY.  It will be available for sale on the publication date on Smashwords and Amazon (as well as B&N and Kobo), and will follow on Apple, Diesel, and others a little later on.  I do wish it was available for pre-order on Amazon, but I don’t have the ability to do that as a self-pubbed author.

Love the cover?  The sublimely talented Ramona at Romance Cover Designs handled it for me, and I love it.  She’s the perfect Danika!  I used a new editor this time around – Chelle at Literally Addicted to Detail – and she was fab!  She beta-read and I’m looking forward to working with her again in the future.  I also managed to snag a coveted spot with the awesome Amanda Pederick, who beta-read and edited.  And I wouldn’t be anywhere without the editing savvy of Jennifer Moorman, who lent her talents and time to me.  It goes without saying that I love my fans and the friends I’ve made since I started publishing.  Thank you for your amazing support.  I’m constantly humbled.  Until next time…XOXO, RE
