Mate of Her Heart Available for Pre-Order

This past summer, while I tried to avoid sunburn and learned how to clam dig, a scene for a story kept coming to mind.  At the time, I was editing Loving Lachlyn and Every Dawn Forever, planning a marketing blitz, setting up a Facebook Street Team, and generally just super busy so I tried to shove the scene to the back of my brain for another, less busy time.  But it persisted.  I couldn’t shake the idea of a human man going against a group of male werewolves to protect the she-wolf that he loves.  So often, I’ve read stories of mixed supernatural relationships (and have written my share of them) where the supernatural creature in the story is the guy and the human is the girl.  I thought, “what if I switched them?  what if the guy was the human and the girl was the wolf?”  Which is where the storyline for the first of my new series, Mate of Her Heart, comes from.  In this book, she-wolf Eveny is in love with a human male named Luke, but according to pack law, it’s forbidden for them to be together.  This situation begged the question…what would you do for love?  If being with the only person you’ve ever loved meant you would lose your family, could you do it?

I wrote this 33,000 word novella in three weeks.  It’s one of the fastest books I’ve ever written, because the story just flowed and I couldn’t stop myself from writing.  I love this story and the characters that are quickly endearing themselves to me.  This series is different from The Wolf’s Mate – the laws that apply to wolves are different in Wilde Creek – and I hope that you enjoy it!  The book was edited by the fabulous Alexis Arendt at Word Vagabond.  The gorgeous cover was done by the absurdly talented Ramona Lockwood of Romance Book Cover Designs.  And I wouldn’t be anywhere without the help of my fab beta-reader and friend, Amanda Pederick, and the unending support of my Wild Shifter Babes Street Team.

I’m really pleased to announce that the book is available for pre-order from Amazon, Apple iBookstore, and Barnes & Noble!  You can pre-order it now for $1.99. The release date is Monday, December 9.

Beginning Wednesday, December 11, I’ll be hosting a giveaway to celebrate the book’s new release, giving away gift cards, some fabulous handmade soaps, some gorgeous handmade bracelets, ebooks, and other swag, so stay tuned to the blog!  Details for the new book are below as well as pre-order links.

Mate of her Heart _7 copyMate of Her Heart (Wilde Creek One) – Release Date: December 9, 2013

Werewolf Eveny Moore is coming into her first heat at the age of twenty-five. Bucking tradition, she chooses to go through her first heat alone instead of choosing an unmated male from her pack. There is only one male that she wants in her bed and her life: her best friend, Luke Elrich. But Luke is human and doesn’t understand the consequences of her heat-cycle, so she hides out in a safehouse, planning to ride out the cycle alone and then ask Luke to be her mate.

Luke has loved Eveny forever, but something is going on between them. He’s afraid he’s losing her forever, until she promises to talk to him after her heat-cycle is over. He overhears her brother, the pack alpha, ask another wolf to go to Eveny and take her through the heat-cycle. What her brother doesn’t know is that the male plans to invite some of his friends along. And Eveny is alone in a remote cabin, unprotected. Luke will do anything to keep her safe, even if it means going up against four wolves.

This story contains a meddling brother, a human fighting a pack of male wolves for the only woman he’s ever loved, a female who thought she had a good plan, and bone-melting, skin-tingling hot sex between a male and a female who have loved each other forever.

Two Year Annivesary Giveaway!

I can’t believe that it’s been two years since I published my first book, A Curve of Claw, and took the plunge into self-publishing. I remember sitting across the table from my husband at a local restaurant and telling him that I thought I’d like to publish a book. My husband, who is no lover of fantasy anything, arched his brow and asked what the book would be about. “Werewolves,” I said, thinking about Jason and Cadence’s book, “falling in love and all that good stuff.” He snorted and said, “Well, have fun.” And I did!

From the first line of A Curve of Claw to my most recent release, A Promise on White Wings, I’ve written nineteen books spanning five series with over 900,000 words written! I’ve come a long way since I first published, and I wouldn’t be anywhere without my fans and the amazing friends I’ve made along the way. Without your support, I wouldn’t have kept writing and publishing, pushing myself to write better and faster, to dedicate myself to writing. So to you, my fans and my friends, I humbly say thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

**Some fun tidbits**

  • A Curve of Claw was published on November 12, 2011. My first fan email came on November 14, just two short days later!
  • I save every fan email and message, and have printed out many of them and keep them on my desk.
  • My eyes are hazel, but I always wished they were green (my favorite color), which is why Elizabeth and Cadence both have green eyes. Callie, though, has hazel eyes, and so does Bo.
  • I didn’t know that Allen, Kentucky was a real place until a fan told me. To this day, I don’t know where the name “Allen” came from in my mind, but the town itself is patterned after a small town in Northern Ohio.
  • I can play the piano and I love to sing. Music makes it’s way into a lot of my books because I love it so much. And although I don’t listen to music while I write, I do watch youtube videos and listen to the radio for inspiration.
  • I buy a Pandora charm every time I publish a book. For Logan’s book, I bought a fairy. For Every Dawn Forever, a heart. For Lachyln’s book, a peridot charm for the month’s birthstone. For Jes’ book, a book of fairy tales.
  • The hardest book to write: Callie’s. Ending the friendship between her and Cades was like a knife in my heart. Although it was organic to the storyline, it still made me sad.
  • The book I had the most fun writing: Michael’s. All his funny quips and one-liners really made it a funny book to write.
  • The book with the most research: The Tribe’s Bride. I learned more than I ever wanted to about living in the wild, from tanning animal hides to making salt.
  • Upcoming book I’m most excited about: Melody’s (Marking Melody, Ashland Pride #3). I finally explore why the female lions are the way they are and reconnect with some ghosts from the Pride’s past.

Because it’s my anniversary, I wanted to do something special on the blog, and what better way to say thank you, than to do a giveaway! Beginning today, November 11, enter the rafflecopter giveaway by answering the question – simply comment below on my blog and be sure to log into the rafflecopter with your email and follow the instructions to be entered. If you comment but don’t enter the rafflecopter, you won’t be entered into the giveaway!

There are two giveaways – one for US ONLY and one for INTERNATIONAL ONLY. Be sure to enter the appropriate rafflecopter.

Because of the expense, I’m unable to ship internationally, but I have plenty of ebooks to giveaway to my international fans & friends!!!

**Here’s the question for both the US and International Giveaways: What’s your favorite type of shifter?

Happy Halloween and News!

DSC00089 (1024x768)To all my friends and fans in the US, Happy Halloween!  Tonight, my neighborhood will be full of little kids (and some not so little kids) begging for treats in adorable costumes. Every year we put our big dog in a NY Giants jersey and take him along with us.  He loves to meet people, so it’s lots of fun for him to go around with us.  This pic is from last year when he was all tuckered out from being adored by the neighbors.

In anticipation of the holiday, I’ve been watching a lot of movies featuring monsters, vampires, and all sorts of creatures, including my favorite werewolves.  Just for fun, here are my top five werewolf movies.  This is just my opinion, and I’m sure there are plenty of other fab werewolf movies out there, but these are the ones that I watch when I want to immerse myself in werewolf films.  These are in no particular order, and I make no apologies for time-wasted if you actually watch these:

  1.  Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.  Lucian (Michael Sheen) as the originator of a race of werewolves that were bred by the vampires to be slaves and guards.  He’s a perfect, tortured hero.
  2. Silver Bullet:  This is the first werewolf movie I ever saw.  Campy, yes, but a classic in my mind.
  3. Cursed:  Christina Ricci and Jesse Eisenberg as siblings fighting the werewolf curse, and it co-stars the adorable Joshua Jackson.  I dig the pentagram mark on their palms as a precursor to the curse.
  4. Blood and Chocolate:  Human man, werewolf girl, plus the uber-sexy Olivier Martinez as the big bad alpha.  Um…I lost my train of thought when I saw pics of Olivier.  *fans self*.
  5. Red Riding Hood:  I like the old-world, fairy tale feel and the twists of the storyline.  Plus it doesn’t hurt that Shiloh Fernandez is a love interest.
Now…onto the news!
  • November is my two-year publishing anniversary.  It’s hard for me to believe that two years has passed by already, but I’m really thrilled with how far I’ve come.  In the next couple of weeks I’ll have a giveaway on the blog to celebrate the anniversary, so stay tuned for details!
  • New Series:  My new werewolf series will debut in December, hopefully early in the month.  I’ll be posting on the blog when I have a concrete publication date as well as pre-order info as it becomes available.  I’m really excited for this new series, and I’ll be doing a giveaway during the month, too.
  • Are you part of my Shifter Babes Street Team?  I just gave away several signed copies of The Wolf’s Mate Book One plus some of my fab swag.  Join up!  I’d love to have you!
  • Melody’s book (Ashland Pride #3) is in edits and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a January publication date!
That’s all the news from my end!  I wish you all a spooky, fun day and a treat-filled night!  XOXO, RE

A Promise on White Wings is Here!!!

I’m so happy to see the seventh Wiccan-Were-Bear book, A Promise on White Wings, live!  Falcon Prince Jes’ story may very well be one of my favorites.  I really enjoyed creating the world of the falcon shifters and getting to know the white lion shifters introduced in the sixth book.

Final A Promise on White Wings (small)A Promise on White Wings (Wiccan-Were-Bear #7)

Taken in by a bear den as a child, Danika doesn’t know what she is, only that she’s all alone in the world. A visit to a bear den in Northern Ohio brings her face to face with her future in the form of two males who are meant to be her mates. She discovers that she’s not only the destined mate of the falcon Prince Jesuit and the white lion Prince Chance, but also the answer to a prophecy about a white-winged woman. When a bear from her den makes a claim to her, her mates must fight for their right to her and to their future.

Warning: Be prepared for a bear with a bad attitude trying to claim Danika for his own, two princes willing to die for their mate, and the woman who brings them and their people together. Contains m/f/m interaction.
